If you do not know what to do in this sunny weekend, we have a great idea!

Take a trip to Søndervig

The sun is shining and we are on a road trip to Søndervig.

We arrive to a camping area called Søndervig Campingplads, with our own tent; this only costs us 79 kroner per night per person.

The camping area is placed on a perfect spot between the beach and the city.

After we have unpacked our stuff in the tent we go the beach to fish, play beach volley, and just to sit and talk in the sand dunes. After a while we need something for our sweet tooth so we go the ice-cream café ELiSA, where we buy the most delicious originally homemade Italian ice creams.

Later we rent two tandem bicycles, we cycle through the city – to see what is going on around here. On our way we see a group of horsemen, on their way to the beach – Søndervig Heste rents horses to the tourists, who want a guided tour in the beautiful nature.

We also see a couple of friends challenging themselves with everything from air rifles to bow and arrow on Søndervig Skydebane. On our right hand we see a couple playing tennis, the sweat is dripping from them, but it is clear to everyone that they are having fun.

Suddenly we are overtaken by a big group of boys on segways who are laughing hard, because we apparently do not cycle fast enough, because of all the exciting activities around us.

A golf ball rolls across the street from Søndervig-Adventure-Golf where an amateur golf player is playing. Here it is possible for everybody to play golf and minigolf. Holmsland klit golfklub is a place for people with more experience.

The time is around 06.00 pm and we are hungry, we cycle to Turistgrillen at Badevej 17, we eat Stjerneskud, which is a dish made of fillet of plaice and other great things from the Danish ocean. It tastes delicious and it is just what we need before our night on the town. We party all night long with a lot of other young people, we buy drinks in the bar Verona and get lots of new friends.

We all agree that Søndervig is a great place for young people like us!

With that thought in our heads we walk back to the camping area, where we sleep tight for what is left of the night.

We wake up, pack our things in the car, drive to Lodbjergvej 44 in Søndervig to see the famous Sand Sculpture Festival.

The Sand Sculpture Festival is open to public from June to October daily from 10.00 am to 05.00 pm and we all pay 50 kroner to get in. It is very spectacular what these “sand-artists” are able to make out of something as simple as sand. It is stunning work and we will definitely return to this amazing event and try out all the things that we have seen next year.
